therese raquin
a very stylish, visual production with a definite look of the early expressionist cinema

****, The Bath Chronicle

This extremely interpretive production of Emile Zola’s story of 19th Century passion, murder and remorse owes much of it’s success to the ingenious set design which consists of a series of portable wooden frames and a huge silk sheet. The frames are assembled to represent beds, card tables, a rowing boat and an art gallery and the sheet becomes a lake in which the young man is brutally drowned
